PIN started its operations in Nepal in 2015 following the earthquake. PIN Nepal has been working with marginalized and internally displaced persons in shelter, social inclusion and protection and other sectors for the past three years. PIN Nepal is using “Her Turn” methodology,PIN has since implemented projects focused on gender transformative programming and currently starts a five-year project under “Leave No Girl Behind” funded by the DFID Girl’s Education Challenge.
The other two major programmes focus on finding solutions to displacement and supporting reconstruction. The purpose of Durable Solutions is to ensure that the affected households are put on the path to resilient reconstruction. Vulnerable Shelters programme is aiming to work with the most vulnerable households that need assistance in rebuilding through community participative approach.
The main role of the Country Director is to ensure overall management of PIN’s operation in the country, its further strategic development, representation towards donors, partners and authorities and cooperation with PIN headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Overall management of both international and national employees.
- Strategic planning and country programme’s development in accordance with PIN‘s strategy and needs of the particular region, and in consideration of PIN's capacity.
- Fundraising and liaising with donors, networking, understanding donors’ priorities and actively seeking new funding opportunities, including leading or significantly contributing to developing new proposals.
- Supervision of the development of new programs including proposal development in cooperation with program team.
- Ensuring that all PIN’s internal procedures and partner/donors' requirements are met.
- Supervision of the financial management. Together with Finance Desk Officer supervising the country program budget and overall economic situation.
- Planning HR needs of the country programme and taking part in the process of selection of new staff (expatriate and senior national), supervision of capacity building and ensuring sufficient human resources for the projects to meet its objectives together with the HR department.
- Supervision that all security and safety rules (SOPs) are set-up and followed, keeping security policy up to date and enforcing its implementation in cooperation with the international Security Manager.
- Ensuring clear and regular internal communication within PIN country program and with PIN HQ.
- Cooperation with Desk Officer, providing regular updates on the country program’s operations, consulting major decisions, responding to requests from the headquarters.
- Representation of PIN towards media, the public, partners, donors and local authorities.
- Representation of PIN at Alliance2015 (alliance2015.org) and any other INGO platform (e.g. NCCI), and coordination mechanisms (e.g. clusters, working groups), in cooperation with senior colleagues.
